Exceeding Time Limits in a Continuing Education Course or Program
policy
1. For all continuing education courses that participants have enrolled into for the purpose of obtaining continuing education toward "recertification" requirements, the following policy applies:
- Participants are given a two (2) year period of time in which to complete a continuing education course.
- This two (2) year time period begins on the date that the student has made payment and has been enrolled into the continuing education course.
- A participant who exceeds their time in a course, may re-register into that course if the course is still available from AIHCP. The re-registration fee will be 50% of the current course fee at the time of re-enrollment.
- Once a participant re-enrolls into the course, they are given a one (1) year time period to complete the course. If the participant does not complete the course in this one (1) year time period, they would have to re-enroll again and pay the full course fee amount, at the time of re-enrollment.
- Re-enrolling into a course after exceeding time periods, is subject to the course still being offered by AIHCP.
- Participants who re-enroll in a course will be required to use any updated editions of the required textbook(s) and adhere to any changes in course requirements. AIHCP does reserve the right to make changes to syllabi, including changing or updating course texts.
2. For all continuing education courses that participants have enrolled into for the purpose of seeking the education requirements for a "certification," the following policy applies:
- Participants are given a two (2) year period of time in which to complete ALL of the courses in the continuing education curriculum for their chosen certification specialty.
- This two (2) year time period begins on the date that the student has made payment and has been enrolled into the first continuing education course of an offered curriculum.
- If the participant did NOT successfully complete all of the required courses in a continuing education curriculum, they may re-enter into the education curriculum by enrolling into any course or courses they did not complete.
- If the participant had been enrolled in a course or courses in the education curriculum and exceeded the allowed time period, they can re-register into the course or courses at a fee of 50% of the current course fee. They will then have a one (1) year time period in which to complete the course or courses.
- If the participant had not been enrolled in a required course in the curriculum, the cost of the course will be the current course fee at the time of enrollment.
- Once a participant who has expired their two (2) year time period in a course, continues by re-enrolling into the remainder of the courses, they will have a one (1) year time-frame to have completed all of the required courses in the continuing education curriculum.
- If a participant has not successfully completed the remaining required courses in the education curriculum, after re-enrolling, they would be required to begin and retake all of the required courses in that curriculum, in order for the courses to be considered current and applicable for meeting certification requirements. Course fee will be subject to the current course fees at the time of this re-enrollment.
- Participants who re-enroll into a program, are also subject to any new courses or additions or changes to the education curriculum, on the date of their re-enrollment.
